Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any one thing.
- Abraham Lincoln

With these words in mind, we begin our journey across the United States, resolved to succeed. We know it won’t be easy, but resolution – coupled with the support and encouragement of family and friends -- will see us through to the fulfillment of our dream.

We invite you to participate in our journey. We will depart from Sedro-Wooley Washington on June 30, and arrive at our home in Vermont approximately eight-to-ten weeks later. Each day, we will post a journal for you to follow our progress.

You can follow our route by clicking on our map and itinerary link. Keep in mind that both these will most likely change. First, who knows what each day will hold? A headwind might hold us back, or a tailwind propel us at a speed we can’t imagine. Maybe we’ll decide to visit a special or magical place that we learn about from the locals. And we’re keeping our minds open to alternative routes prescribed by those most familiar with the roads in their states. We review this trip as an adventure and that means keeping our minds and hearts open to possibilities.

For those of you interested in learning more of the details of our trip, we have included a gear list and a Frequently Asked Questions Section.

We also hope you’ll consider helping us meet our goal of raising $25,000 for a scholarship fund to help adult Vermonters who are pursuing their dream of a college degree. You can read more about why we’re doing this in our attached scholarship brochure.

All the best,

John, Mary, and Annie
