Vermont has a variety of organizations, agencies, hospitals and health care clinics working together toward better support and services for people living with HIV/AIDS. Finding your way around this system is not always easy. The Vermont People With AIDS Coalition is here to help you quickly locate the services and information you need and to put you in touch with the people who provide them.
In addition the Coalition does the following:
  • We sponsor an annual four day retreat.  This year it was held in Springfield, Vermont. The retreat provided participants with up-to-date information about HIV/AIDS, medical and alternative/complimentary treatments, and social services in a safe, supportive, nurturing and social environment.
  • We sponsor workshops and seminars throughout the year where PWA's can come together for support and to receive and exchange educational information.
  • We provide a statewide hotline for information and help: 1-800-698-8792.
  • We publish a monthly newsletter called "The Update". If you would like to subscribe please send us a letter at PO Box 11, Montpelier, VT 05601 or call or e-mail us with your name and address.
  • We provide nutritional supplements through a Buyer's Co-operative.
  • We provide peer counseling and help to the HIV+ community.
  • We organize Regional Consumer Caucuses as a venue to bring together Vermonters living with HIV/AIDS.  We are also organizing CAB's (Consumer Advisory Boards) around the state.
  • We have a part time Consumer Organizer who can be reached by calling (in Vermont)  777-0235 toll free;  Tuesday through Friday 11:00 am till 5:00 pm.  In addition, our Montpelier Office is staffed from 10:00 am till 3:00 pm Mondays and  Tuesdays.

Membership in the coalition is open to anyone at all.  Our services are available to anyone in Vermont who needs them.
