Here are some interesting places to go if you like to hear independent artists, acoustic music, or guitar music.

Resources, Magazines and Sales Locations for Independent Artists

CD Baby  A fun and informative on-line record store featuring independent artists. Check out the artists donating all of their earnings to the American Red Cross.

Guitar Nine Records   Here you will find some of the finest guitarists that you will likely never hear on the radio (along with some of the finest that you will hear). This site has grown exponentially over the years. Four years ago, there were about 20 artists and 30 CDs featured on their site. Today there are over 800 CDs for sale there. One-stop guitar maniac's delight.

Guitar Notes   A web site devoted to guitar and guitar enthusiasts. Everything and everybody you want to and don't want to know about concerning guitar, guitar music, artists, etc. A great big fat resource, but has some outdated links and information.

GuitarSite.com  "Your guide to over 1000 Guitar Resources & Music Sites!"

Jam Music Magazine  New Hampshire's #1 music magazine distributed FREE all over New Hampshire, and now sporting a pretty classy web site.

Acoustic Guitar Magazine  One of the finest acoustic guitar publications in the USA. This very professional magazine bridges the gap between lesser-known independents and world-class players and performers.

Fingerstyle Guitar  Subscribe to this magazine and you not only get a fabulous publication specializing in fingerstlye guitar and guitarists, but you also get a free compilation CD every issue.

Independent Artists

Preston Reed    Ohmigod - This guy just blows me away. If you have never heard of him, or never heard him play, you will be drop-dead astounded! One of the most original acoustic guitarists on the planet. You won't believe your ears!

Leo Kottke    This is the "unofficial" Leo Kottke home page. What can you say about this guy? A legend in his own time. Yo, Leo, why don't you write back?

Doyle Dykes    How do you define a 'monster' player? Dial Doyle up, and you will find out. Clean as a whistle and with chops that are nothing short of remarkable. (I hear that he really is human). Doyle actually said that my 2nd CD had some "great stuff" on it. That's like John Lennon saying, "Hey, kid, you can write a bloody good tune". So, yeah, I'm pumped!

Lachlan MacLearn    Guitarist/singer/songwriter writing complex and intelligent music for a wide listening audience. Last I heard, he was planning on a writing collaboration effort with David Crosby (who loves his music, by the way).

Spencer Lewis   One of Vermont's true originals.  Blending acoustic guitar with tasteful violin work makes his music a joy to listen to.  Co-producer of Night Visions and was invaluable in the production and recording of my first CD.

Chris Bucheit    Fellow fingerstyle guitarist beginning to make some wonderful noise.  One of my favorite "new" acoustic guitarists. Cool website that Chris designed. Some guys just have too much talent.
