COMMISSION PURPOSE



  • Promotes the achievement of economic and financial independence for all Vermont women

  • Works to achieve legal, economic, social and political equality and cultural consciousness

  • Acts as a public policy advisor, planner and information source for the general public, the Governor, the Legislature, and the Judiciary on issues of importance to all Vermonters, especially women

  • Provides a direct-service information line to all Vermonters where supportive counseling, information packets, research and advocacy are provided on topics such as child support, criminal justice issues, employment discrimination, sexual harassment and entrepreneurship

  • Conducts research, produces publications, and provides education on women's issues through workshops, conferences, and the media.

  • Encourages a link of grassroots organizations through an Advisory Council
