  • explain why and how businesses and corporations support nonprofits
  • distinguish between corporate sponsorship and charitable contributions
  • describe the advantages and drawbacks of corporate support for nonprofits
  • determine a nonprofit's eligibility for corporate support
  • define criteria a nonprofit would use in selecting a business partner and managing the relationship

    Demonstration of Competencies:

  • research and write an original case study of an unpublished cause-related marketing effort or partnership between a business and a nonprofit or NGO; include a section on your recommendations for what guidelines a nonprofit or NGO should use in choosing a business partner (three-to-five pages)
    OR
  • interview a business person and/or nonprofit administrator about their experience in a corporate-nonprofit partnership or cause-related marketing effort and report the results of that interview in a three-to-five-page paper
    AND, with either assignment,
  • complete an online exam for this module
