British TV director Geoffrey Sax ("White Noise") directs this episode for the TV series Urban Myths in 2017. It's a strange comedy about how Timothy Leary may have met Cary Grant after learning the actor took 100 hits of LSD. Cary told in an interview to the Good Housekeeping magazine that he had taken LSD.
During the Sixties Leary was the Harvard professor who urged everyone to “turn on, tune in, drop out.” Supposedly he corresponded with Cary over the years before he dropped acid. However there's no record of them ever meeting.
The sketch here is an imagined meeting between them in 1958 when Cary was filming North by Northwest. Cary tells Leary that he hadn’t actually started to take LSD until the following year when filming the Blake Edwards’ comedy Operation Petticoat.
