Austrian director Peter Patzak ("Lethal Obsession "/"Sweet Little Sixteen"/"The Upper Crust") helms this unnecessarily complicated crime thriller.  The convoluted script is co-written by the director, Paul Nicholas and Julia Kent.

The cynical world-weary Inspector Alex Glass (ArminMueller-Stahl, East German born actor) is an eccentric aging Polish-born West Berlin police chief in pursuit of a serial killer. The main suspect is Jack Miskowski (Frank Stallone), a pusher dealing in Berlin's underground. The inspector has an affair with Lisa (Morgan Fairchild) and gets the hooker to act as a decoy to lure the killer. The killer's modus operandi is to inject the woman vic with heroin and hide her corpse in a meat locker after stabbing her numerous times.

Julia Kent, one of the writers, plays the inspector's virtuous new partner. The British actor Michael York plays a nasty lawyer.

If it weren't for ArminMueller-Stahl, doing a Columbo thing, this underwhelming movie wouldn't be worth seeing.
