great behind the scenes rock documentary on the
creative process. It's directed in a no-nonsense and
rambling homage manner by Sam Jones ("Boomerang"/"I
am Trying to Break Your Heart"). The musicians display
no egos, work hard and find ways for each to make
Dylan's timeless unfinished songs theirs.
group of musicians that have not played together as a
band gather together to create songs based on the
newly discovered lyrics from when the 27-year-old
Dylan was recovering in 1967 from a motorcycle
accident and lived mysteriously in the Woodstock, NY
area. Music producer T-Bone Burnett brings
Elvis Costello, Rhiannon Giddens, Taylor Goldsmith,
Jim James, and Marcus Mumford together in a dramatic
two-week studio session at Capitol Studios. This
piece beautifully plays off the legendary 1975 album The
Basement Tapes by Bob
Dylan and The Band.
