| JUNG
ON FILM (director/writer: Stephen Segaller;
cast: Richard L. Evans, Carl Gustav Jung; Runtime: 77; MPAA
Rating: NR; Home Vision Entertainment; 1957) "A special interest educational film." Reviewed by Dennis Schwartz Stephen Segaller directs
this 1957 no-frills interview of the illustrious Swiss
psychologist Dr.
Carl Gustav Jung by University of Houston psychology
professor Dr. Richard L. Evans. For those with their
thinking caps on, this is a special interest
educational film where Dr. Evans asks Jung about
archetypes, Freud, extroverts and introverts,
intuition, dreams, the study of the unconscious, the
difference between ego and the self, the inner world
of fantasies as a means of truth and the famous
psychologist's experiences with some interesting
patients. If
the viewer has no interest in psychology and wants to
keep it that way, he/she should avoid this academic
documentary. Jung
followers and seekers of knowledge should eat up the
chance to see such a legendary historical figure
answer these basic questions about his invaluable
research. REVIEWED ON 6/10/2012 GRADE: B Dennis Schwartz: "Ozus' World Movie Reviews" © ALL RIGHTS RESERVED DENNIS SCHWARTZ |
