Hannahs Quilt

This was a medallion quilt made for my niece, Hannah Pennington. The center block was a little too large for an exchange I was doing, so I started from that and built out. I didnt plan the whole quilt, just added to it as I went.
This was one of my early efforts, and Ive since learned a valuable lesson about fabric quality from it. Several years after I made it, Hannah asked me to repair some sections the black fabric in the inner diamond border had completely disintegrated. The fabric undoubtedly was a cheap solid black from the local discount fabric store. I ended up taking apart that section of the quilt quilt (which was tied) and completely re-sewing the inner border. Cheap fabric isnt cheap in the long run.
