You tell ME...

Here I am.

Last fall I took a road trip to Chicago with David Ford (l) and his brother, Slugo (r).

We got stopped twice for suspicious behavior, once in Batavia, NY and the other in Urbana, OH. Slugo and I had long hair. Maybe that's why. David said to the cop in Batavia, "I'm from Massachussetts." But, he's really from Vermont. That could have been trouble. We were let go both times.

Actually, Slugo had short hair, but just looked like he was up to no good. Yeah, maybe that was it. The car was suspicious looking too. Maybe they had a point.

On the way back it snowed a hell of a lot. Actually, it snowed the whole time. Got this shot of a truck wreck while driving:

I live in an old woolen mill in Hartford, Vermont. This is near White River Junction, Vermont, if that helps:

I'm renovating the mill into artist studio spaces, including my own. I will paint and do whatever else I feel like in it when it's done this summer. I've rented the whole building to other artists, two of which now have spaces. My sister and I are getting the rest of the spaces ready.

It's quiet outside the mill around six in the morning.

Otherwise, it can be noisy, with trucks going by on one side and trains on the other. I like the trains. The White River is right in front of the mill, and sometimes I go swimming in it, usually when guests show up, like my friend Garrett.

Garrett's in front, me behind. A few years ago I went up to Maine with Garrett. Nice beaches.

I often visit the Main Street Museum of Art run by David Ford. In fact, I sleep there 'cause my sister's sleeping in my place. It's not as if there isn't enough space, really, but I just thought she'd like her own space. The musuem's a nice place, anyway. Plus David's a nice guy.

Token shot of Vermont in the fall:

It is beautiful in the fall. But you have to pay for it in March, which is hell.
