Julia Watson
has experimented with surface design on textiles for many years. Early in her
career, her work was exhibited in galleries, juried shows, and invitationals throughout
the U.S. including: Clay and Fiber, Taos; The Elements, NYC and Greenwich; Renwick
Gallery, Washington, D.C.; and American Craft Council's West Springfield shows.
More recently,
Watson's work was chosen to be included in "Natural Dyes in Art," an
exhibit of contemporary works at the Brunnier Art Gallery, Ames, Iowa in conjunction
with the Colour Congress 2002 international symposium on natural dyes. A profile
of Watson and her work was featured in Vermont Magazine's May/June 2005 annual
Arts & Culture issue. She
