Welcome to YOUR Church!
The First Congregational Church of Fair Haven (Vermont) UCC!

CHRISTIAN DEVELOPMENT

works with people of all ages to grow in faith and knowledge.

Preschool: Every Sunday at 10:00 one of the parents cares for the children in our nursery. There is a regular rotation of parents and each is a loving caregiver. A speaker in the nursery broadcasts the worship service. Children are free for play, learning to develop friendships, napping, and growing.

Church School: We seek to involve each child age 3 through Grade 12 in a rich program of Bible and life. Most Sundays children come to worship with their families. They sing and pray and enjoy a story time with the Pastor, and dedicate their offerings to God. Then they go to a special event: music ministry, art day, Drama and Puppet ministry, Biblical Gardening and Bible and Christian Games. Then each Sundays they study the lectionary lessons that adults are studying in worship.

At hristmastime we host a special Cantata and Pageant in cooperation with the music ministry.

Summer Activities from the end of church school in May until it starts again in September, take up after the children leave worship. Each week we plan a different experience from making a present for father’s day to learning stories of plants in the Bible garden and then eating the fruit to sharing Bible videos and popcorn!

VACATION Bible School provides a high point for the summer. In 2009 the Methodists, Catholics and UCC combined to have a lovely school June 16-20th at the Methodist Church
