New Exhibit This Year (2009) |
"Domestic Life in Backwoods Vermont" |
This year’s exhibit "Domestic Life in Backwoods Vermont" is centered on the early life of Azubah Kenny, 1751-1837. We have her pastel portrait (far right) and kitchenware (left ), given to the museum by her great granddaughter in the 1920’s, and evidence from the estate inventory made by the administrator, Walter Eager, of her lifetime possessions. The kitchenware - iron kettle and spider, oven peel, wooden piggin, mortar and pestle, earthenware milk pan and jug, and pewter charger were all used on the Kenny homestead. All the textiles on display were used in Windham County. |
