Rutland Vermont is a small New England city that owes most of its existence to the 19th century railroad named after it. While the Rutland name is only shown today on museum or model railroad equipment, Rutland railroading is alive and well in the year 2000. Thanks to the efforts of current manufacturers of railroad models and decals, it is possible to do a model railroad having a Rutland theme in any era from early steam to the present. I have set up these pages as a way to focus on the current period, that is, the railroading I see every day on my noontime walks in the year 2000.
