The lead Sr. Solaris administrator and manager for the Solaris team for MFS, responsible for the uptime of 45+ Enterprise class Sun servers.  Most servers are E3x00 or rack mount E420R systems for E-Commerce and real time financial market databases.  Veritas software is standard for volume management and clustering of Sybase trading databases using fiber channel disk arrays.  Provide on call support via pager/cell/laptop for both Solaris and AIX infrastructure.  Work with senior management to migrate legacy financial systems to Unix and implement cutting edge designs for E-commerce Internet/Intranet, enterprise backups, and migration to fiber storage area network.

· Numerous (weekly) installations of Sun Enterprise class machines (E3000, E3500, E420).

Worked as lead architect for new LAN, Internet connectivity, and Intranet/Internet design.  Wrote and implemented comprehensive master plan for new infrasture to include long distance single-mode fiber LAN interconnecting 14 municipal buildings, and migrations to TCP/IP backbone infrastructure.  Built City’s first web site in-house on Sun Solaris hardware, with Sun native DNS, SMTP, and Raptor firewall/VPN components.  In charge of all technical operations, supervising two Technical Support Specialists and one Database Administrator.   The City of Keene is 5th in population in NH but first in technical innovations.

· Designed and implemented 14 building fiber optic LAN among City, County, Schools.  Multiple installations of fiber and CAT 5 cable, coordinating with vendors and installers.
· Wrote 70 page five year Master Plan for municipal LAN and information technology.
· Standardized TCP/IP across all platforms and installed on VAX/VMS, Windows NT Server, Solaris Unix, and 180+ desktop workstations.
· Installation and configuration of SMTP Sendmail, POP3 email service and T1 Internet gateway.
· Installation of Raptor Firewall for full Internet firewall and proxy services.

Responsible for the management of the computing environment consisting of a DecStation 5000/240 running Ultrix 4.3 (Unix), DEC Pathworks 5.0 network, Windows for Workgroups, and UniVerse relational database.  Worked as the lead Database Administrator, responsible for the data integrity of this database.  Over one thousand Universe applications support the financial and administrative information systems community of college administrators.  MIS provided custom programming in this 3-GL environment to meet the needs of each administrative office.  In 1992 I assembled, configured and installed the DecStation to downsize operations from a Prime 9750 mini-mainframe to office environment Open Systems.  This included the migration from PRIMOS Prime Information (PICK) RDBMS to the UniVerse RDBMS.

· Custom programmer for Admissions, A/P, A/R, Alumni, Accounting, Financial Aid, Payroll, Personnel, and Registrar for AIMS (Academic Institution Management System) using uniBASIC language.
· Migration from Prime to DEC hardware and Prime Information to UniVerse database dictionaries.
· Maintained integrity and resizing of database hashed files, data dictionaries, screens, menus.
· Ad hoc 3-GL PICK query language support, user hotline and training, PC troubleshooting.
· Managed hubs and insured connectivity over fiber/Ethernet to RDBMS system.
